The objective of my research project is to develop a monitoring plan for restored riparian forests with special emphasis on cavity-nesting bird habitat. 

 

Cavity-nesting birds require dead trees and snags for nest-building. It is essential that as we restore forests in the riparian zones, we monitor their development to ensure habitat for this cohort of birds.
